Since its inception in 2011, the Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation has been making swim lessons, lifeguard training and other recreational opportunities accessible to underserved youth in San Mateo County.

  • What are the programs I am eligible for with a BBAF scholarship?

    Scholarship programs vary based on the provider but generally allow for eligible children to access subsidized swim lessons, lifeguard training for teenagers, and/or swim team opportunities.

  • How do I enroll for a scholarship with BBAF?

    Children are able to apply annually for scholarships. To check for your specific eligibility and register, reach out directly to your local BBAF partner.

  • Where can I find the closest swim provider to me?

    BBAF’s programs are located at neighborhood providers and pools who partner with us.
